An 11-year-old girl presented with decreased vision in the right eye since childhood. Visual acuity was counting fingers OD and 20/20 OS. Refractive error was -14 diopters in the right eye. Results of the anterior segment examination were normal. Fundus examination of the right eye showed extensive, white, flame-shaped streaks radiating along the path of the nerve fiber layer, consistent with myelinated retinal nerve fibers (). The left eye was emmetropic and normal.
