Anxiety disorders include generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and social or school anxiety disorder, among other types. According to an analysis in 2019, anxiety disproportionately affects women, with an age-standardized prevalence of 4694.7 per 100,000 people, 1.64 times the prevalence among men. Brief anxiety screening may identify individuals who could benefit from further evaluation and management; however, there have been no evidence-based clinical guidelines for anxiety screening.
